BLACK NOUGAT

Black nougat of Provence VAL Roubion

Black nougat, very popular in Provence, is the ancestor of white nougat.
Appearing in the 17th century in the south of France, black nougat is one of the thirteen traditional Christmas desserts of Provence.

Honey and sugar are heated to a high temperature in a copper cauldron with a subtle touch of natural vanilla.
The almonds are then added in the appropriate proportions.
